The City of Grand Prairie will be installing a 24-inch valve on the wholesale meter vault located on the south side of Hwy. 287/east of Prairie Ridge Parkway starting Tuesday, June 16, 2026.

During this work effort, City staff will be required to temporarily transfer water to the Prairie Ridge/Goodland community from the treated waters the City of Grand Prairie receives from the City of Midlothian to treated waters the City of Grand Prairie receives from the City of Mansfield.

Work to be performed by the City’s contractor will take approximately 9-10 hours, and the City of Grand Prairie will remain on treated water from the City of Mansfield until all bacteriological samples collected after the valve is installed have passed testing. Work is anticipated to be complete by Wednesday, June 17.

The Prairie Ridge/Goodland community should not encounter any decrease in water volumes or pressures during this upcoming installation effort.
