Update on Water Discoloration

August 7, 2025

Residents,

Inframark, the City of Grand Prairie, and the City of Midlothian have been communicating and planning next steps to fully remediate the water discoloration within the District.

The City of Midlothian has directed us to a 2025 publication to its residents regarding a similar discoloration issue and has confirmed that the same seasonal phenomenon is occurring this year.

Inframark has continued to complete the required samples and tests and has verified that the water is in compliance with TCEQ and EPA water quality standards. The discoloration comes from an excess of iron and other mineral deposits in our water system causing discolored water or metallic taste. There is no threat to health due to these minerals, and this issue is expected to be resolved in the coming days.

Starting 8/6/2025, Inframark has been coordinating directional flushing of the entire system to improve the aesthetic qualities of the drinking water. Inframark notes that the testing from yesterday afternoon has shown notable water coloration improvement.

We appreciate your understanding and patience as we work to resolve this matter. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact the Inframark 24/7 dispatch team at (281) 398-8211.
